Those of you who thought TNT experimented too much on their last album "Atlantis" and went far out left field, will certainly be hit by a truck coming from right. Exploding in your face with their heaviest album in 25 years, the Norwegian powerhouse, led by Queen Elizabeth's own Tony Mills, combines the melodic quality from 1989's "Intuition" and the heavy sound from 1984's "Knights Of The New Thunder" and makes it sound as fresh today as when these classics came out. Most notably, Ronni Le Tekro's wall of guitars sounds stunningly good this time; massive and unique, with signature riffs and licks all over the CD, and you can tell he's still very much into finding out about the mysteries of a guitar neck. Mills' third offering with TNT puts him right at home as well, this time the songs are perfectly suited to his voice. Speaking of the songs; with the sole exception of "My Religion", you have to go back to "Intuition" to find such a batch of good melodies from TNT. It's tempting to name them all, but the opener "Engine" will prove everything you just read above, along with the catchy "Don't Misunderstand Me" and "Ship In The Night", not to forget the killer cut "Refugee". "A Farewell To Arms" unites three generations of TNT fans. This CD is deadly metal - be prepared to surrender when Ronni Le Tekro, Diesel Dahl, Victor Borge and Tony Mills blow up the stages in 2011. - Frode Johnsrud - Scream Magazine. scream.no
