Let's be realistic. This album is not gonna break any records or re-invent TNT's staredom or popularity IMO. If My Religion didnt, then Territory certainly will not either. It's not the 80's anymore.
But I dont think thats whats important. The important part is to continue making rock music for those who wants to listen, young and old. If bands like TNT wouldnt stick around, what would be there to listen to? |

I don't know why some of those reviewers are giving so bad reviews to "New Territory". Although being a TNT fan since "Intuition", I like the new album very much.
Those reviewers should just realize that if a new member (~songwriter) is going to join the band, of course the sound of the band will be a little different. Same thing happened to Quiet Riot, when they sacked Kevin DuBrow in the late eighties. They hired Paul Shortino and released the album just simply called "Quiet Riot" in 1989 (or was it 1988?). The album doesn't sound the same like five previous QR albums but nevertheless, it was a great album (at least I think so).
The same thing applies to Accept, when Udo Dirkschneider left the band and he was replaced by David Reace. The band released the album called "Eat The Heat" which I think is still a brilliant album. Of course some die-hard fans will dislike the albums which sound a little bit different but evolving is the key word, you know...
One of my true favourite bands has been The Cult, and I've always appreciated the fact that all their albums sound a little bit different to each other. Also the musical style of the band has varied from album to album. Still they've been able to make good albums and good music and that's the greatest gift the band can give to their fans.
Well, that was only my opinion. Some may disagree, but there you go... |

Maybe stretching the comparison a little far, but Marillion and Fish...
Though I count myself among that believes that the band was much better with Fish, I don't go out ragging what the band has done after he left the band, and what they are doing now. It's quite decent. And the fan base of Marillion is something any band can envy them... Very rarely do I see so much done for the fans, and I've been following them (too) for a very long time.

I'm one of those who liked Marillion with Fish - and like Fish solo - and I like Marillion without Fish. As they are now it would just be weird to get him back in. Many times when I ask someone if they want to go to a Marillion consert they say they only liked the band with Fish but has never listened to any of the new stuff... Not saying this about you, PeSt
I see some resemblence here... As to the bands you mention, Turbo Sensonic.
And I agree with you, PeSt - Mariollion has a fan base any band could envy And they know it |

O.K.
WE HAVE ALSO
IRON MAIDEN
JUDAS PRIEST...
THAT WASN'T SO SUCCESS...
THE SECRET IS THAT IN BLACK SABBATH AND VAN HALEN REPLACED BY BETTER SINGER(WANT TO HEAR IT OR NOT).
BON SCOTT WAS A LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN BRIAN JOHNSON
BUT AC/DC WAS ALMOST IN THE START OF THEIR IN'L CAREER AND THE WORLD HEARD ABOUT THEM WITH BRIAN JOHNSON. _________________ www.bbsociety.com

Ehhh...Iron Maiden did pretty good i think after Bruce Dickinson Joined the band
But of course, Running Free is a great song written by Harris / Di'Anno, and their first album had a top 4 on the uk hitlist
And yes SKI, i understand that you are thinking on the Bayley period. |

i think it depends on what lineup you got into first. if you got into the dickinson part of maiden, you may not like the original and vice versa. so it is hard to discuss imo. _________________ www.bbsociety.com |
