I had to volunteer as the designated driver to be able to get to the show, well they payed for the ticket so I was more than happy to drive 180km one way(I had to slap myself in the face to not fall asleep on the way home, very long drive)
We arrived just 10 min before TNT entered the stage, the place was packed with people, but not everybody payed attention to the band during the show, maybe just 200-300. People were drunk.
I got myself in place in the front row, face to face with Ronni (Yeah Caligirl, face to face)
The Setlist:
Invisible Noise
As Far As The Eye Can See
Downhill Racer
Give Me A Sign
Guitar Solo
Caught Between The Tigers
Listen To Your Heart
Seven Seas
Harley Davidson
My Religion
10 000 Lovers
Intuition
They played just short of an hour, I was hoping for more but there were several acts on the bill and they all played for an hour.
The band was tight even tough TM seemed a little tired during the first couple of songs, to my joy they no longer uses any sampled backing vocals(apart from the first two songs I think) Not even the beginning of Listen, it was all for real
They played the songs back to back with a little talking in between some of the songs, so the energy was on top and those of us in the front had a blast. It's hard to compare TM with TH since I never saw TH live(apart from the DVD) But TM sang better at the end of the show, he struggled a bit on the higher notes especially in the beginning. He also took time to let us take pix, posing while singing(if only my camera was faster, he waited nearly 30 sec just in front of me at one time) Ronni played the same solo as in Madrid DVD, just a little shorter. Just before his solo in Seven Seas the lights went out on the stage, he played on and after the solo TM sang as if it was light, after awhile the lights came back and they all laughed, then TM got us all to sing "We are rulers of the ocean, Kings of Seven Seas" When he introduced Harley Davidson the crowd cheered to my big surprise, everybody sang along so the song seems to work on drunk people All in all I had a good time, wished they could've played longer. Favourite moments; Invisible Noise, Downhill Racer and Caught Between The Tigers. _________________ We Shall Be A Nation Free! |

And it will be a sad goodbye to some of those songs after some 30 shows or more over the last year, that is the final performance of the old set.
But hey, funtime ! Here comes the new show !
Lookin' forward, as ever, to Lillehammer.

It will be interesting to see how many new songs there will be, how many from the old setlist they still will play and what other old songs they have decided to bring into the new setlist. I`m excited
Seems like some of us will meet in Lillehammer. TNT will play from 01.30-03.00, so we have time to meet and talk before the concert. See you! _________________ Trying to burn the sun
