Review in the latest Scream magazine (Norwegian translated into English)
TNT "A Farewell To Arms"
5/6 points
Those of you who thought TNT experimented too much on their last album "Atlantis" and went far out left field, will certainly be hit by a truck coming from right. Exploding in your face with their heaviest album in 25 years, the Norwegian powerhouse, led by Queen Elizabeth's own Tony Mills, combines the melodic quality from 1989's "Intuition" and the heavy sound from 1984's "Knights Of The New Thunder" and makes it sound as fresh today as when these classics came out. Most notably, Ronni Le Tekro's wall of guitars sounds stunningly good this time; massive and unique, with signature riffs and licks all over the CD, and you can tell he's still very much into finding out about the mysteries of a guitar neck. Mills' third offering with TNT puts him right at home as well, this time the songs are perfectly suited to his voice. Speaking of the songs; with the sole exception of "My Religion", you have to go back to "Intuition" to find such a batch of good melodies from TNT. It's tempting to name them all, but the opener "Engine" will prove everything you just read above, along with the catchy "Don't Misunderstand Me" and "Ship In The Night", not to forget the killer cut "Refugee". "A Farewell To Arms" unites three generations of TNT fans. This CD is deadly metal - be prepared to surrender when Ronni Le Tekro, Diesel Dahl, Victor Borge and Tony Mills blow up the stages in 2011.

Google's oversetting. Ha ha ha:
Sjenert yuan sangeren: hans tredje siden han kom Tony Mills, ATLANTIS [forrige] to år siden ny.
Den nåværende 80-riff og godt blandet med essensen av TNTs "Refugee", "Ship In The Night" også 流 石 god sang og gruppe.

SHY yuan singer: his third since joining Tony Mills, ATLANTIS [previous] two years since new. The previous two were not taking full advantage of a variety of musical elements with Ronnie, but his style was also very deep, in this work is to present music of comparatively straight. Such as a keyboard Biyakana sparkling course, but none that Ronnie anything '84 released in 2nd album KNIGHT OF THE NEW THUNDER] Perhaps you are using the main guitar when, Sole golden age even the chorus work and the approach of the guitar The biggest feature is it makes us feel strong.
"Intuition" is impressive and catchy guitar riffs reminiscent of "Don't Misunderstand Me" allows you to give us a sense of nostalgia that melancholy chord progressions, guitar featuring a metallic "Farewell To Arms" is just something KNIGHT OF ~ [] and [itself] TELL NO TALES songs of the era. To hear the voice of Tony Harnell Tony Mills.
The current 80's riffs and well blended with the essence of TNT's "Refugee", "Ship In The Night" also 流石 good song and group. Moreover, heavy chorus QUEEN ness while being reminiscent, to mind the classic Miyasu permeates an intimate traditional song "God Natt, Marie" would be the point firmly to the recordings, as well as his past few Lonnie Le窺Eru sore but as a musician in fat rhythm Tekuro.
The taste of each album colored by different colors, now enjoy the music of one of TNT. Among that, in this work is a good board that I miss the fun TNT glimpse. While a constant release point continues to keep high quality, listen to each song quickly get through the "pull" Let's strength also noted. _________________ Why don't you take me, break me, intoxicate me now? |

Yuko etc all...
Google doesn't do a good job of translating from Japanese to English or even to Norwegian as shown above. Please can you translate it into sensible English for us?
Also, if you can scan the page of Buurrn magazine if you have it, and possible translate that for us as well. We'd like to add it to the review page here on the site.

I tried to improve Google translation.
I did my best but sorry if there are mistakes.
It's more difficult than I expected to translate Japanese into English...

Their third album after joining ex-SHY singer Tony Mills, in two years since "Atlantis".
Previous two albums have very deep and wide musical style which seems to be taken full advantage of Ronni's musical elements.
However, they took a straightforward approach in this album.
Though there's no gorgeous keyboard sounds, of course, the chorus work and the approach of the guitar remind us of their golden age.
It may be because Ronni used the guitar which is mainly used on their 2nd album "KNIGHT OF THE NEW THUNDER" released in '84. And it's the strongest point of the album.
"Don't Misunderstand Me" has impressive catchy guitar riffs which is reminiscent of "Intuition".
Its melancholy chord progressions make you feel a sense of nostalgia.
"Farewell To Arms" featuring metal guitar riffs , is just songs like "KNIGHT OF THE NEW THUNDER" and "TELL NO TALES" era.
Tony Mills's voice sounds like Tony Harnell's.
"Refugee" and "Ship In The Night" are really great, blending 80's riffs and essence of current TNT.
Moreover, the album contain the masterpiece "God Natt, Marie", its heavy chorus is reminiscent of QUEEN, make a lasting impression with familiarity like traditional songs.
As with last several albums, Ronni le Tekro shows that he gets into the full swing of his work as a musician.
A way to enjoy current TNT'music is tasting their albums, differently colored one by one.
Meanwhile, this great album give a glimpse into good old TNT.
It should also be said that, despite constant release, they have consistently produceded high-quality works.
As each song have clear aftertase, you can listen to the entire album in no time.

Review in the Burrn! magazine (Japanese translated into English)
TNT "A Farewell To Arms"
85/100 points
Veteran rock band's brand new album, the third release after joining ex-SHY(vocals) Tony Mills.
As typified by dynamic and pulsating melody of "Refugee", which seems to suit Japanese taste,
you can listen to the distinct signature sound of TNT throughout the album.
They broke out of halfway directionality of their previous work.
I should add that Ronni le Tekro's guitar performance is outstanding,
very close to his solo album. Moreover, his sound is pretty cool, solid and heavy.
The perfect combination of Tony’s full of a variety of good song writing
and Ronni’s assertive guitar work is a strong point of the album.
Some of the songs are ballad, but it is obvious that they take aim at Rock Album.
Unexpectedly, their thoroughness makes an impact on the album.(written by Masa Itoh)
